Swiss International Mountain Marathon

Offered categories
The SIMM is a mountain run for two-man teams over two stages with mandatory checkpoints and a total score. The way over prescribed control points is arbitrary and only with the help of map, compass, as well as the own catering and safety equipment to cope. The material for the overnight stay at the common destination of the first stage in the area, for food and first aid is exactly prescribed and must be carried in the backpack over the entire distance.

Orienteering Marathon

(Parcours 1 Strong and 3 Light)

The Orienteering-Marathon-Parcours are orientation and kartentechnisch demanding, since the majority is run off the beaten track. They are aimed at athletes and orienteers who are experienced in handling the card.
The checkpoints must be started in the prescribed order.

Trail Marathon

(Parcours 7 Strong and 9 Light)

These courses are orientational and cartographic easy. The items to be called serve as checkpoints and must be called in the prescribed order. The route on the map between the posts leads across easy-to-find hiking and mountain trails and other guidelines. This possible route is just a suggestion and does not necessarily have to be followed. The Trail Marathon also allows runners to participate who are less interested in reading maps than in alpine terrain. The short distance of the trail marathon is also very suitable for walkers / Nordic walkers.

Score Marathon

(Parcours 5)

Since this course got good feedback at the last competitions, we decided to continue offering them. The aim of the score marathon is to "score" as many points as possible within 5 hours per day. Each team is given a map and list of possible posts and scores at the start. Now the task is to design a route that achieves as many points as possible without exceeding the time limit. It is important to note that depending on the level of difficulty, the posts differ in weight and points are deducted if the time is exceeded

This course offers the most freedom of choice, because you can choose your own route and always be classified. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for families and casual athletes.

Handicap Course Score

Starting with 2019, no handicap bonuses will be distributed.

for the courses 1 / 3 / 5 / 7 / 9

For each course an overall ranking list is created. In a special column the categories are named: Ladies (D), Men (M), Couples (C) and Families (F).

In the category Families (F), at least one team member must be 16 or younger than 2020, ie year 2004 or younger. A team may consist of up to five runners. The same family affiliation is desired, but not mandatory.
